Explore Jonathan Snell’s Faith Journey
My wife Lea and I have been part of the family at Sherrod Avenue since 1984. I was employed as a Nurse Anesthetist at Helen Keller hospital until I retired.
We have three children: Jessica (David) Gardner, Chris (Tori) Snell, and Victoria (Kooper) Smith, and are blessed with six grandchildren so far!
Lea grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, attended Lipscomb University, and received her MS degree in elementary education from the University of Alabama Birmingham. She taught in Birmingham for six years. After our move to Florence, she shared the ownership of Weeswap, a children’s consignment business, as well as catering at the Larimore House on the Mars Hill campus.
I enjoy being a Poppa to my grandchildren, camping with family and friends, participating in medical mission trips in Africa, following college football, and traveling with Lea to wherever “our bucket list” takes us.
As a long-time member of Sherrod Avenue, I have served both as deacon and began serving as a shepherd in 2009. My primary areas of oversight include Benevolence, Disaster Relief, and Youth Ministries.
Having grown up at Sherrod Avenue, and then raising a family here, has truly made Sherrod Avenue ‘a place to call home.’
