Doug Murphy

Becky and I have two sons and daughters-in-law, 3 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 1 great grandson
I was raised at Sherrod Ave. Soon after I was born my parents, Doug and Peggy Murphy, moved to North Florence and started attending Sherrod Ave in the early 50’s. In 1980, Becky and I moved to Guntersville but always returned home often on weekends and attended Sherrod or Cox Blvd where Becky’s family attended church. Becky and I moved back home to Florence in 2022 and decided to renew our relationship with the Sherrod Ave family.
Being a shepherd of the Sherrod Ave family is truly an honor to know that you have been selected to make decisions and lead your church family in a Christ like manner.

The best aspects of the Sherrod Ave family are the love and care for each other, that is so obvious every day, plus the love we have for our community.

As an Elder, I hope every visitor that walks through our doors feels welcome and if they are looking for a place to call home, they quickly realize Sherrod Avenue is a good place to be.
